Clean and Jerk*

*Touch and go at floor only. Choose a weight that will be challenging and something you think you can complete. The idea is to complete the first round (15) without dropping the bar or resting it on the ground. You can rest it anywhere on your body but when it touches the ground in between reps it is only for a fraction of a second (touch and go). Rest as long as you need between sets (~5 minutes).

This is not a timed event but I would like you to time it for curiosity. Please post load (weight) and total time with your rest periods. You will be amazed at how difficult this is.

155# RX'd (01/29/13)
Round 1 = 1:46
Rest = 4:00
Round 2 = 1:37
Rest = 3:00
Round 2 = 1:11
Total 11:34
This was probably too light. But it wasn't. I feel it should have taken longer. Besides, I didn't want to chance it with my Left Arm as it has been bothering me and did during the WOD. Regardless I was able to get half the reps each round off the bat. Then I would hold it in the crease of my waist in between reps. Each round I didn't think I would get the last rep due to hand and forearm fatigue. My Quads were the first that almost went and then my Forearms. They are still pumped. This was a good change up and really puts an emphasis on mental power.

For you ladies: You should attempt at least your 80#/135# weight you use for those WOD's. If you use 75#, then give that a shot. Good Luck.

I could not - not drop the bar! Dropped it after 11 in first round; then 6-3-3 and finally 6-3. My grip/forearms was shot. Just couldn't keep my hands wrapped around the bar. And it got harder and harder to jerk it overhead!

Leslie killed it! Thanks for the company.

Total time:
5:59 C&J's
5:00 rest

@ Krista - good job! I would like you to try this again but with 75#. Do it without dropping the bar or resting it on the ground. If you need more rest between rounds take it. Alot of mental stregnth is needed.

This was a bit of a challenge, I'm glad I used the lower wieght. I was able to do 3 reps at a time, held it after 7, dropped first time at 10. Droppded it once through the 2nd rd, Last Rd didn't drop it held it at 5. Thanks Krista

2 Rd-1:43

3 Rd 1:11

I felt good with this weight. It was not my max weight but still challenging. Got 5/5/5, 6/6 and 5/4 with shelving the bar at the waist or holding it in my hands. Rested a bit then ran a mile.

I am not a fan of this WOD. The weight was a little too much for me.

Round 1: 2:26 - dropped at 10
Round 2: 2:22 - dropped twice
Round 3: 1:15 - Had to dump on all after 6 - my arms were completely fatigued

Took a 3 minute rest between rounds.
