We have rowers as well. You can also go to the fitness center and use their rowers too. When doing this make sure it is a running clock and your entire WOD is finished at 30 minutes. Try as best to start and stop at the 30 second marks. Do not use the timer on the rower. We will be programmimg our clock for the beeps so it will be much easier if you want to use ours.
Good job Jared.

Holy crap, Jared. You did awesome! Seeing your time made me assume I'd get somewhere in the 3000 range. Not even close!

Paul, how do you suppose this score would compare to a straight 15 minute row?

My mom also joined me in this wod. She's a trooper because we didn't start until 10:30pm and she's never even been on a rower.

@ Morgan - I would have thought you would get 3500M plus or minus. On a straight row of 5000M you should be around a 2:30/500M pace which would give you about a 25:00 5000M Row. Jen did 5000M in 25:32. With a row 30 seconds rest 30 seconds your intensity should be much higher than just a pace, such as 2:30/500M. I have a goal of 5000M. My 5000M time is 18:58. This means my intensity should be much higher to knock off 4 minutes. But the rest should help you with this.
So to answer your question if you did 15 minutes straight I would assume you would be about 3000M. if your distance is higher than what this WOD was then you did not go hard enough. Test it out. Do a 15:00 Row and see where you are. I would bet you would be close to 3000M.

@Paul- I took your challenge and made that my workout today.

15 minute Row for Distance.

Final score- 3308m

I used my same goal from my 5k row back in July of getting at least 1000m every 5 minutes. I crossed the 3000m mark at 13:30.

I definitely need to train my body better with interval wods. I feel like I tire a lot faster when I have breaks like my body is saying "Whoa, you mean we weren't done just now?" Yesterday's row was really tough for me. About round 9, I had to start standing up and moving because my legs felt like they were going to lock up during rests. Then it was hard to make that 1st pull and gain back momentum and speed.

That was probably some of the best rowing I have done. My pace stayed between 1:58 and 2:05. Morgan- I know what you mean about your muscles cramping up, my glutes wanted to cramp everytime I stopped after about 5 rounds.

I don't know what was harder! This or a straight 5K Row? My goal was 5,000M. I was at or above my goal until after 4,000M. I was 4,004M after the 24th round. I just couldn't keep up. I was as much as 80M over my pace. Good WOD!

If I only rowed 1.3M more each round, I would have made 5K!
